Cedar Creek Bluebells, pastel, 9x12, $300
Every spring the beautiful Virginia bluebells arrive, forming a sumptuous stream of heavenly blue color along the banks of Cedar Creek. A native ephemeral plant, the bluebells' blue-green leaves appear first, followed by the graceful stalks of nodding bell-shaped blossoms. Walking down to the creek to view them is always an event. The flowers bloom and linger only for a short time then the whole plant dies down by early summer and completely disappears until the next spring.
